I use "BABYS DAYS" in my settings which is an OUTSTANDING EYFS SOFTWARE FOR CHILDMINDERS.
Baby's Days complies all the EYFS Development areas into a Software system which is a complex, modern and fast, yet this simple to manage system has been designed & developed to assist me as a childminder and parents. Parents get directly involved around all areas of the EYFS, which includes the structure of Learning, Development and Care.

MONTESSORI LED & INSPIRED SETTING

As off the 2nd of January 2014 my settings is now "Certificate in the Montessori Practice (CPD for Childminders)", accredited by Montessori Centre International.

I am acknowledged for my contribution to the research in this area and my settings are now Montessori Led & Inspired.

RQIA Awarded 

My setting has been Certified for the Reading Quality Improvment Award since January 2013. I now belong to Readings Leading Childcare Practioners Network. 

I am a Forest Childcare Provider and I believe that spending time outdoors is very important. The children go outdoors here every day, at least once a day, no matter what the weather because I believe that fresh air and wide open spaces are good for them! We have a fully enclosed back garden that the children can access whenever they want. But we also live near to lovely parks, woodland areas and nature reserves and we visit one of these places about once a week.

This means that I:

  1. Take the children on weekly outdoor outings.
  2. We do these outings all year long so that the children can build up their confidence outdoors
  3. We go on Forest walks, go to playgrounds, we do scavenger hunts and act out stories. We go to stup climbing, minibeast hunting, nature items and leave collecting. We visit Moor copse, Sulham woods, Cullinghood Stable, Braknell Forest and many more.

The outdoors is something I really believe is important for children and is something I stress here, that many places don’t.”
