What happens if my child is ill?

It's unavoidable that small children catch all kinds of minor infections. For a speedy recovery and to prevent the other children from falling ill, children who are unwell must stay at home. Only when the fever has subsided for a whole day should you return your child to my settings. If the disease is infectious, we'll need a doctor's note confirming that your child is no longer contagious.

Healthy Eating

I promote healthy eating within my settings. Water is available to the children throughout the day and milk at snack times.
I try to make lunchtime an enjoyable experience and while I encourage the children to eat their meals, I do not force them. I try to promote eating savoury before sweet. I always comunicate to all parents at the end of the days how much their child has eaten.

Clothing

I advise you to dress the children in comfortable, manageable clothes. They cannot play in restrictive clothing, or clothes they fear to spoil. Although I do have a small supply of spare clothes, please bring in your own set, particularly if your child is toilet training. If your child is in nappies, please supply spare ones as well as wipes. In wet weather, a waterproof coat or mud suit as well as wellingtons should be brought in and in the summer, please ensure your child has sun cream applied as well as has a sun hat at my settings..
